ARTS ON FIRE IGNITES IN EDSON AND AREA

Creative Campus and the Community Arts Network Of Edson (CANOE) invite nominations for the inaugural Edson and Area Arts Awards. These awards will be presented at Arts On Fire on Friday, September 28, 2012 during Culture Days (formerly Arts Days).
Four diverse award categories will recognize a variety of contributions to the Edson and area arts community: Artist for the Arts, Arts Champion, Cultural Pillar, and Young Artist.
The Artist for the Arts Award recognizes an individual artist who has shown significant support and involvement in the arts of Edson and area. The Arts Champion Award is open to arts or heritage supporters, donors, volunteers, sponsors, educators, and innovators. It includes those who advocate and stimulate community support for the arts or heritage. The Cultural Pillar Award is open to individuals or organizations that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and contributions to the community’s cultural vitality in performing arts, visual arts, literary arts, or culture and heritage. The Young Artist in the Community Award celebrates an outstanding young artist in any discipline and serves as a reminder that the potential and future of the arts will be realized by our youth.
Nomination forms are also available at the Town of Edson offices. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, September 6, 2012.
